The purpose of Diverse City Youth is to challenge both youth and teens to grow in the areas of a Christ centered relationship, attitude and ministry. Also, discovering what is their passion in life and does that align with GOD’s will.
Diverse City Youth (DCY) is the youth and teen ministry for The Gathering Church. This ministry meets twice a week. Also, once a month a scheduled outing is implemented for students to engage with others outside the church too.

Why is this ministry important?
- It’s their best chance to accept Christ. Research has proven that youth and teens tend to be more receptive to the Gospel than any other age group. They should have every opportunity to believe in Jesus.
- Youth ministry is vital to helping teens integrate into the larger, intergenerational community of the church.
- Youth ministry resists the status quo, helping the church stay relevant.
- Youth ministry provides a means for young people to develop their individual prayer and spiritual life
