What is the Navigators

November Newsletter - 2023
Happy Thanksgiving!!!
We are so grateful for YOU, our amazing ministry team, who are praying and supporting us in missions❤️ Thank you for making ministry possible and for continuing being there for our family❤️
There is SO much to be grateful for in this season for us all. And we have some exciting news and a new development we are grateful to share with you all... God has been leading us deeper into discipleship & evangelism ministry and God is moving forward with The Navigators❤️
Our Future...
To know Christ, make him known, and help others do the same.
We have officially joined the Navigators ministry in Colorado Springs!!! How this came about...
One way that Shari & I know God is talking to us is that he'll drop an idea in our heads at the same time. Our whole time at YWAM, we have remained open to the Lord and His leading whether that be stay or open for Him to move us on if and when that time came.
God spoke the word "Navigators" while I was in a meeting at YWAM. A few seconds later Shari calls and says, "This might sound crazy and you may not like this, but what do you think of the Navigators?" I said that God just put that in my head. She was excited because that's how she likes God to confirm His direction to us. We started talking to the Navigators about their ministry, who they are, and the ministry they do. We discovered that so many things about the Navigators line up with our call to reach the lost through evangelism and discipleship. Especially a department that we'll be joining called I:58, which stands for Isaiah, chapter 58. This is a foundational chapter to our life & ministry. Some of the ministry specified in this chapter includes: remove the chains that bind people, share your food with the hungry, give shelter to the homeless, give clothes to those who need them, and help those who are in trouble. We are excited to move forward with them and see the impact God wants to make in the community during this season!!! The woman that will be leading the team we are joining has a beautiful heart for our homeless friends and those needing healing in their hearts from traumas and tragedies they have experienced and need healing from. Matt & I are getting trained to be able to help those through trauma more effectively❤️
Our Time at YWAM...
To know God and to make him known.
A summary of what God has done during our time at YWAM in Colorado Springs... During our time at YWAM: - We've moved our family 1,000 miles away to Colorado Springs - We've flown overseas to Macedonia, where we lived for almost 3 months ministering to Muslims. - We joined staff to lead over 350 young missionaries on the street to pray for people and share the Gospel through street ministry. We spent over 4 years pioneering street ministry at our YWAM campus. Less than 3% of students who walked through the doors of YWAM would actually go long-term overseas to be missionaries in least reached places in the world. What happens to the 97%? A lot of them go to college, move back to their hometown, get married, and live in America. And some of them have taken street ministry back with them!!! - They volunteer at their local Rescue Mission - They start evangelism groups in their churches - They keep a "yes" in their heart to reach anyone, anytime, anywhere. Our effectiveness was to the lost on the street and also to the 97% of students who are still doing ministry where they live, and to see a culture of evangelism happen and cultivate at the YWAM COS campus. We are grateful for our time at YWAM and the season God had us there to impact in the ways He provided for our family.
The Navigators is still a donor based ministry meaning, we still raise funds to do the ministry we do just as other non-profits also have to raise funds to exist and help those in great need in our own country. We would love to answer any questions you may have about our transition so please feel free to reach out❤️ Matt - 812-453-5406 Shari - 812-550-2777 Prayer Requests... - We still have not sold our house in Evansville, IN so prayers that it would sell very soon as we are paying 2 houses payments currently which is a huge stretch for our family until it sells. - Please pray with us for this next season God is leading us in digging wells within the community to reach the LOST.
